WHY CAN'T I CUT AND PASTE WORD DOCUMENTS HERE ANY MORE? I'M SOOOO BORED WITH TYPING EVERYTHING OUT!!!!!
I've written a super-specific version of my Query letter, as per the instructions on the Public Query Slush Pile, but now I'm sitting on a mountain of post-it notes containing a few things I ought to be doing I can't face typing it out, again!
Try this: paste it into the body of an email, email it to yourself, then copy from there. I type up my blog posts in word all the time up at work, copy/paste into an email, send it to myself, when I'm home I copy/paste it into blogger, and it usually works. There is something weird about taking it from a word doc and it yells at you. I think we should complain to google. But in the meantime, try that and see if it works for you.

Good advice, Kristin. I use e-mail as an intermediate storage place for documents, too. E-mail programs seem to "launder" text that isn't compatible otherwise.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with that final version of the query. I look forward to reading it.
Of course, maybe it's the Tralfamadorians messing with your query. They may want your book all for themselves. :-)
If you haven't checked it out yet, my guest post on Nathan Bransford's blog has some silliness to cheer the most discouraged of aspiring writers.
Kristin and Anne you are officially my heroes :)

You are the Bransford Blog-a-like? I'm popping over to read.
