ALWAYS BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THE PRESENCE OF WONDER ~

I spent much of my writing time today imagining my way through Mortimer's story. Following E B White's advice, I've been looking for the presence of wonder. Finding moments when, despite danger or loneliness, Mortimer would be in awe of something around him.

IS THERE ANYTHING YOUR MC COULD BE IN AWE OF?
Um, she could be in awe of Faldur. Snort!
ReplyDeleteActually, there's a lot to be in awe of in my fantasy novel. Creatures she didn't know existed, as well as things inside herself equally unknown before. I love writing fantasy because of the "awe factor." I love stories about the outside world - sun, moon, stars, deep forests and barren mountains.
Thanks for showing those wonderful photos! I love the eternal majesty of space. I think it is truly a glimpse of God.
Hi Christine
ReplyDeleteI think his bravery and willingness to put duty before everything else is quite awesome.
Nothing puts humanity in perspective quite like the vastness of space.
One of my MC is in awe of the universe. He loves looking at the stars. Many think he is searching for God; but he's really just experiencing the world outside himself.

Hi Donna
ReplyDeleteThe universe is awesome - no matter what you expect to find there.
Love the astronomy photos! My husband and I can be found star gazing on clear nights. Jupiter, Venus, and Mars were spectacular these last few weeks.
ReplyDeleteOh, by the way, I mentioned you on my blog, giving you a Versatile Blogger award. People will be stopping by hopefully! Go over and
see what to do!
Hi Susan
ReplyDeleteThe astronomy pictures are amazing - and there's a new one every day. Thank you for passing on a Versatile Blogger award. I'm happy to call by. :)
